Ashley Shrum, DPT

Native to St. Louis, MO, Ashley relocated to Houston, TX early in her career, where work-related injuries were her primary focus. Currently in Denver, CO, Ashley specializes in general orthopedic injury rehabilitation and telehealth services.

Having benefited from physical therapy as a child, Ashley pursued her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science, and received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy through Saint Louis University. Her professional development continued with certifications in Orthopedic Manual Therapy (COMT), Dry Needling (Cert. DN), and Selective Functional Movement Assessment. Ashley consistently advances her professional education to better serve her community, and joined the American Physical Therapy Association in 2012, subscribing to the 'Colorado Chapter and Orthopedic' section.

Ashley's additional coursework includes:

  • Blood flow restriction (BFR)

  • Kinesiotaping (rocktape)

  • Cupping

  • Instrument assisted soft tissue massage (IASTM)

  • Pain education

  • Chronic pain

  • Autoimmune disorders

  • Adolescent injury rehabilitation

  • Overhead athlete rehabilitation

  • Sports recovery

Ashley takes a whole-body, evidence driven, movement based approach to physical therapy. Her treatment methods empower patients to help themselves rather than relying solely on medical professionals for relief. Her focus remains positive and upbeat in helping her patients achieve personal milestones and develop healthy relationships with their own bodies.

Beyond physical therapy, Ashley loves to enjoy the outdoors with her husband, Gabe, and dog, Sal. Active by nature, her interests include traveling, volleyball, cycling, dancing, spending time with family and friends, and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team and Colorado Avalanche hockey team.

Ashley's highest personal emphasis is in service to people, animals, and the natural environment. She and Gabe are frequent and avid volunteers in their local area, and support positive change for communities and people across the globe.
